Bronte Bakery, located just 8km off Sydney CBD, has been baking the world-famous Sourdough Breads for over 56 years. The European Style you order today is still baked true to the Old –World recipe brought to Australia from Poland in 1955 .
Quality food made with attention to detail and the best ingredients is making a comeback, and producers like Bronte Bakery are flourishing as a result. Bronte Bakery is owned by seventh - generation baker Mark Grossman pictured above at the age of one with his grandfather at the original site of Bronte Bakery at Waverly. Mark started learning how to bake bread at the age of ten years old. Marks's grandfather was well known in Sydney for his quality bread and used to supply delis, the Navy, the Army and the Airforce.
Bronte Bakery produces a fantastic selection of quality breads made using traditional baking methods and only the finest ingredients. "We want to bring back the manufacturing of 'real' bread made with authentic ingredients, " Mark said. Sourdough breads are a Bronte Bakery specialty with traditional black Russian, wholemeal and kalamata olive, all hand molded.
The bakery produces a variety of loaves, well-known sourdough breads, rolls, bagels, poppy twists, banana bread and the famous rye bread. Bronte Bakery breads are available in a variety of delis, cafés, supermarkets and fruit shops in Sydney and Canberra. Also Bronte Bakery supplies custom made breads for movie sets and popular TV shows like MasterChef Australia and My Kitchen Rules.
